(р. 1932) Уильямс, Джон Таунер
Композитор и дирижер. Известен как автор музыки к более чем 50 фильмам, в том числе к популярным фильмам С. Спилберга [Spielberg, Steven]. Сочинял симфоническую, камерную, джазовую [jazz] и популярную музыку. С 1980 главный дирижер оркестра "Бостон попс" [Boston Pops]. Среди фильмов, музыку к которым он написал, - "Похитители" ["The Reivers"] (1969), "Челюсти" ["Jaws"] (1975), "Звездные войны" [Star Wars] (1977), "Близкие контакты третьего вида" ["Close Encounters of the Third Kind"] (1977), "Супермен" ["Superman"] (1978), "Искатели потерянного ковчега" ["Raiders of the Lost Ark"] (1981), "И-Ти - инопланетянин" ["E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial"] (1982). За музыку к фильмам удостоен нескольких премий "Оскар" [Oscar], "Эмми" [Emmy Award] и "Грэмми" [Grammy Award]
